Coal quality characteristics and evaluation of coal seam in Ningdong coalfield Yinxing No.1 Mine

Yinxing No. 1 Mine is located in the northern part of Jijiajing mining area of Ningdong coalfield, which is rich in coal resources and has superior coal quality. By analyzing the characteristics of coal-bearing strata, physical properties of coal, coal rock characteristics, chemical properties and industrial properties of Yinxing No. 1 Mine, the coal quality characteristics of coal seams were explored and their industrial uses were evaluated. The study showed that the coal seams of Yinxing No. 1 Mine were mainly located in the first and second coal-bearing rock sections of the Middle Jurassic Yan'an Group, containing a total of 22 numbered coal seams, including 9 recoverable coal seams, with a recoverable coal-bearing factor of 4.85%. The coal type of each recoverable coal seam was mainly non-stick coal with black color, weak asphalt luster, jagged and shell-like fracture, and the macroscopic coal rock components were mainly dark coal, which was extra low ash-low ash, medium-high volatile matter, extra low sulfur-low sulfur, medium fixed carbon and high heat generation coal. The coal seam was poorly bonded, high strength, harder-medium grindable, and medium high thermal stability. The coal can be used for a wide range of applications, mainly for power coals and coal chemical coals.
