Based on the methods of coal petrology, 11 samples taken from the No.6 Tanggongta Mine were analysed by the use of microscopic method, microscopic section of coal seam and coal facies parameters（ TPI,GI,F/Mn,V/I ） were got, through analyzing the relationship between these data, the coal petrology and facies of the No. 6 seam from Tanggongta Mine, Inner Mongolia was discussed.
