With the increase of the mine depth, mulit-rope friction hoisting has been becoming a main way of hoisting in mine in our country，but it is easy to slide rope, slip cage and other accidents. The composition and working principle of the mulit-rope friction hoist preventing rope sliding and cage slipping protection device were mainly introduced， the usages of the preventing  rope sliding and cage slipping safety protection device developed by Xuzhou Sunshine Science and Technology Corporation Ltd. in Huaibei Coal Mining Group Linhuan Coal Company were analyzed. It was put forward that in the circumstances of rope sliding and cage slipping，besides the device sent out acousto-optic alarm，the actuators could realize intelligent capture under PLC control，thus improving the reliability of friction hoisting and equipment efficiency, ensuring the coal mine safety.
