Abstract Cable anchor supporting design in some mine of Shaxi was currently based on field experience and engineering analogy, lack of certain theoretical analysis and scientific guidance. Based on this problem, the mine big thick coal caving roadway section rupture 3205 return aircourse was taken as an object, FLAC3D was used, different support scheme of roadway surrounding rock damage range of the plastic zone, displacement of surrounding rock stress distribution and deformation of surrounding rock were analyzed by numerical simulation, the optimal supporting scheme was got and applied on site. Engineering practice showed that the scheme could effectively control deformation of the surrounding rock of roadway and get good economic and technical effect.
