Abstract According to the use of shift catalyst during the initial start-up of ethylene glycol project of Shaanxi Weihe Binzhou Chemical Corporation Ltd., the factors affecting the service life of shift catalyst were found out, and the whole process of shift catalyst from loading, start-up to system stability was summarized. The results show that the loading density, loading quantity, temperature-increasing vulcanization depth, gas-conducting process, and frequent start-up and shutdown during the initial start-up are the key factors affecting the service life of shift catalyst.
