| Analysis of top coal caving effect in shallow buried thick coal seam of fully mechanized caving face |

Abstract In order to study the top coal caving effect of No.13 extra thick coal seam fully mechanized caving face in Ciyaogou Coal Mine, according to the parameters of coal seam buried depth and coal hardness measured on site, the top coal caving property was analyzed from five aspects of strength, buried depth, gangue, lithology and mining / caving ratio. FLAC3D numerical simulation is used to analyze the failure process and stress distribution of top coal. Within 50 m of working face mining, it is necessary to weaken the top coal manually. When the working face advances 70 m, the stress concentration of top coal begins to be obvious, and the caving effect of top coal is gradually improved, with good caving effect.
