Abstract In order to effectively evaluate the water inrush risk of the No. 8 coal seam pressure mining in the mine field, the average aquifer thickness between the coal seam floor and the austria aquifer was obtained through statistical analysis of 39 borehole data in the mine field. It was 127.42 m and had good water-proof performance. It combined geological hydrological data to evaluate the risk of water inrush. The results showed that according to the results of water inrush risk assessment, it was determined that most of the coal seams belonged to the small probability zone of pressure mining and water inrush. Only the deep buried area of the local western coal seam was the transition zone of pressure mining, and the overall water inrush risk of the coal seam was small; Combined with the evaluation results, the technical route of pressure mining during coal seam mining operation was formulated.
