Old goaf water is one of the important factors threatening the safe production of coal mines. Goaf water exploration in Tangshan Kailuan Linxi Mine was taken as an example, the practice the water exploration was discussed, and the experience of water exploration was summarized. The preventive measures of provided a certain basis for coal mine water exploration and discharge work was given.
