Abstract According to the problems of the largest coal natural gas project in the world scale in Xinjiang, such as insufficient coal shortage, insufficient capacity of the transformation system, severe corrosion of the gas furnace jacket, poor quality of the secondary ammonia, and the excess of ammonia water etc., the causes were analyzed, and the countermeasures were put forward. It put forward that the the security, stability and economy of the project and so on should be comprehensively considered from fountainhead, coal quality, gasification technology maturity, by-product processing and subsequent equipments etc.. And some suggestions were put forward on the process selection and optimization of the new project.
