Abstract In order to improve the gas drainage effect of top fractured zone, relative parameters of relief hole was settled by the height of three zone, caving interval of main roof and recovery progress, and the best plan was got. The calculation of gas drainage was improve by optimizing the design plan, with good effect in 1206 working face of some mine and providing examples for similar engineering.
