Abstract Based on analyzing geological features of goaf in a mine of Yangquan group,the method of combining three-dimensional modeling software Solid works and finite element analysis software ANSYS was applied to simplify stratification of geological strata. At the same time,stress and deformation of the goaf roof were simulated numerically,influence of pushing distance and mining height on maximum stress and deformation were analyzed,The research showed that foundation of the goaf would not subsidence; maximum stress and deformation of roof were enhanced with increasing mining span,but changing with mining height was not obvious,As a result,the analysis result provided theoretical reference for protection and management of goaf in the future.
