Abstract Dehydroacetic acid as a preservative has certain harm to human body, so choosing accurate, simple, rapid and efficient detection method is particularly important. Domestic four kinds detection method of dehydroacetic acid,ultraviolet spectrop- hotometry, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) were described and analyzed. It is pointed out that high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) have good wide prospects, because of simpleness and speeding for sample detection.
