Abstract Based on difficult caving of hard roof in Yanzishan Mine during primary mining, ?first weighting interval was 47.62m in 8403 working face through theoretical analysis, which proved force caving method was needed. New type hydrofracturing technology was first applied to forced caving in 8043 working face, narrowing of 35.25 m, decreased by 16.12 m, which achieved a good application result.
