Abstract The second panel surrounding rock of roadway of Changcun Mine in Shanxi belongs to Ⅳ unstable surrounding rock, with large pressure of surrounding rock and severe mining pressure, the support effect of roadway was analyzed based on physical and mechanical parameters of No. 3 coal seam and rock got in lab and roadway support parameters, surrounding rock stress, deformation and failure depth after digging roadway were analyzed, the result showed that left side of roadway deformation is 65 mm, right side 66 mm, roof 32 mm, damage depth of surrounding rock roof 1.5 m, floor 1.5 m, two sides 1.5 m. The surrounding rock got good control under existing support.
