Abstract Nickel is an important mineral resource in national economic development, and more and more nickel resource is required. Currently, 70% of nickel ore is from nickel sulfide ore, 30% from nickel laterite. Nickel resources status of our country,as well as the beneficiation process of existing nickel sulfide ore and laterite nickel ore are introduced in detail. Further research of nickel separation technologies should be put forward, the recovery of nickel and the quality of concentrate should be improved.
