Abstract Water outburst from strong runoff zone of coal seam roof was a common water outburst accident in the process of coal seam mining. In order to realize the safe production of No.150107 Face in Jingbao Coal Industry, the direct current method was used to explore the K2 limestone aquifer in the roof of the working face, three predicted water-bearing areas were divided, and 16 exploration and drainage boreholes were constructed for the divided water-bearing abnormal area for verification. Finally, through the measures of drainage and strengthening drainage, the safe mining of No.150107 Face was realized, which provided reference experience for water prevention and control in other working faces of the mine.
