Abstract In this paper, the long screw structure of MG450/1050-WD shearer used in Wangyun Coal Mine is taken as the research object. Aiming at the fatigue failure problem caused by resonance, a simulation analysis model is established. Through modal analysis, harmonic response analysis and fatigue analysis, it is determined that the long screw has the risk of resonance and fatigue failure under the conditions of 94 Hz and 153 Hz. Based on this, an optimized design scheme for vibration reduction by adding rubber blocks is proposed. The fatigue life of each part of the optimized long screw structure is significantly improved, which verifies the feasibility of the vibration reduction scheme.
