Abstract In order to quickly and accurately identify the mine water filling source of Wangjialing Coal Mine in China Coal Huajin, and effectively prevent the occurrence of mine water disaster accidents, the hydrochemical characteristics analysis, carbon and oxygen isotope analysis were carried out for five kinds of water sources, including surface water, quaternary loose layer water, coal aquifer water, Ordovician limestone water and goaf water. The ion sources and interrelations between them were discussed. The results showed that the accumulated water in goaf was mostly recharged by coal measures aquifer water, which was basically not affected by Ordovician limestone water. There was a mutual recharge between surface water and Quaternary loose layer water. The research results provided a theoretical basis for the mine water disasters prevention and control under similar geological conditions.
