Abstract There is a large amount of methanol in the tail gas of glycine. Direct discharge will pollute the environment and cause waste of resources. In order to purify the tail gas of glycine to meet the emission standards and recycle the methanol in it, a low-temperature condensation-absorption-molecular sieve adsorption combined process was proposed for the low-energy recovery of methanol in the tail gas of glycine industry by using the physical and chemical properties of methanol and the high-efficiency adsorption of molecular sieve. The treatment of methanol in the tail gas of glycine industry was realized from two aspects of molecular sieve adsorption theory research and process optimization. The experimental results show that the research can achieve the effect of purifying and absorbing methanol tail gas, realize the recycling of methanol, and make the glycine tail gas reach the standard discharge.
