Abstract In order to ensure the smooth production connection between No.1 and No.2 mining area of No.5 coal in Yushupo Coal Mine, a fixed belt conveyor should be designed and installed in the belt roadway of No.2 mining area of No.5 coal, which should be lapped with the two belt-conveyors of No.1 mining area of No.5 coal. In this paper, the selection calculation of the new belt conveyor and its related equipment is carried out. The practice shows that the selected equipment is scientific and reasonable, the operation is safe and stable, and the economic benefit is good, which meets the requirements of production continuation in Yushupo Coal Mine.
