Abstract Taking the planetary carrier of MG400/951-WD shearer cutting unit of Yanjiahe Coal Industry as the research object, the fatigue strength analysis of the planetary carrier was carried out by using ANSYS simulation analysis software. The results show that there is stress concentration on the outer side of the spline sleeve during the working process of the planet carrier, the maximum stress is close to the yield strength of the material, there is no safety factor margin, and there is a risk of fracture in continuous use. In view of this situation, the structure size of the stress concentration position of the planet carrier is analyzed, and the method of increasing the fillet radius is determined to improve and simulate. The simulation analysis shows that the stress concentration problem of the improved planet carrier is improved, the maximum stress value is reduced by 58.4%, and the safety factor is 2.4. After the application of improved planetary carrier in Yanjiahe Coal Industry, the operation and maintenance cycle of planetary carrier is prolonged, the intensity of operation and maintenance work is reduced, the production capacity and efficiency of coal enterprises are ensured, and more economic benefits are created for coal enterprises.
