Abstract In order to reduce the tunneling rate of roadway and recover the coal pillar resources in the section, Zhangcun Mine carried out the research on the technology of directional pre-splitting blasting roof cutting and gob-side entry retaining in the coal roadway of 3113 working face. Combined with the geological production conditions of the working face, the main parameters such as roof cutting angle, height and borehole spacing were determined by theoretical calculation, and the phased surrounding rock control scheme was formulated. The field application shows that after blasting roof cutting, the deformation of roadway is reduced, and the economic benefit is remarkable.
