Abstract Taking the surrounding rock of 12062 lower roadway in Huayang No.1 Coal Mine as the research object, aiming at the problem that the mining roadway of small coal pillar island working face is significantly affected by mining, stress concentration of surrounding rock, fracture development, poor bearing capacity of coal pillar and other factors, resulting in large deformation of surrounding rock of roadway, this paper puts forward the support of anchor cable reinforcement ( giving full play to the active support effect of anchor cable ) and shed ( single column + π steel, one beam and three columns ), and gives the support scheme in detail. After field application, the maximum deformation of the roof, floor and side of 12062 lower roadway is 378 mm and 460 mm. The deformation of surrounding rock can meet the requirements of safe mining of 12062 fully mechanized mining face, and the control effect of optimized supporting surrounding rock is remarkable.
