Abstract In order to find out the structure development and the distribution of water-bearing abnormal bodies in coal and rock strata in the range of 60 m inside and outside the working face and 120 m below the floor in No.8471 face of Yangdong Mine, based on the actual situation of the mine, three geophysical methods of transient electromagnetism, electric depth-measurement and in-seam wave seism were used to detect the full coverage of the half space below the working face. Through the analysis of the working arrangement and detection effect of the working face, the necessity of the application of multi-method combined geophysical detection in the complex working face of coal mine was emphatically explained.
