Abstract In order to improve the recovery rate of coal resources, blasting roof cutting and pressure relief gob-side entry retaining technology was studied in 1223 belt roadway of Taoer Mine. The research showed that : ①Through the construction of blasting drilling in the roadway in front of the stope, cracks generated in the roof of the roadway and face. After the working face was mined, the roof of the goaf falled along the cracks, which reduced the load on the support body in the roadway and maintains the stability of the roadway;②The roadway deformation of gob-side entry retaining had obvious stages, and different supporting methods should be adopted in different regions; ③According to the geological conditions of No.1223 Face, it can be calculated that the cutting height was 7.8 m and the cutting angle was 12 ° ~ 17 ° ; ④ directional pre-splitting blasting roof cutting pressure relief technology had successfully achieved gob-side entry retaining in No.1223 Face, the deformation was small and the roadway was stable, achieved remarkable economic and social benefits.
