Abstract The prediction of coal seam gas emission is very important for the safety production of coal mine. In view of the lack of reliable gas measurement data in No.3 coal seam of Shangkong Coal Industry, the gas content data of adjacent Xifeng Street Coal Industry were used for similar prediction. It is predicted that the maximum gas content in III area is 5.2 m3 / t. When the output of No.3 coal seam III is 0.6 Mt / a, the relative gas emission of the mine is 6.03 m3 / t, and the absolute gas emission of the mine is 9.62 m3 / min. Considering that the amount of coal seam gas emission is determined according to the gas data of adjacent coal mines, the gas emission data should be corrected accordingly in the later excavation process.
