As the considerable development of spandex production industry, the application range of spandex products is gradually expanding, from the initial high-end textiles to the continuous penetration of production and life in all aspects. At the same time, the product system of spandex is constantly enriched. On the basis of conventional spandex, the product types are continuously refined and differentiated according to its different application scenarios, and even a variety of differentiated spandex products are derived. The characteristics of spandex products and its current situation in production applications were summarized,  the importance of spandex in the textile industry were outlined, the types of spandex and the trends in different modification were analyzed,  the development direction in five different spandex were introduced, and its development prospect were look forward.
