Abstract According to the field investigation and the existing data analysis, the acid water pollution of coal mines in the northern water-scarce area that were represented by the Shandihe River, has the following characteristics: ①The acid water spills mainly from the mining-out of abandoned mines, and the acid water flows through the area to form secondary superimposed pollution; ②Lack of clean water, water shortage, river self-purification capacity weakened or even completely lost;③Acid kiln water, mine drainage, industrial wastewater, domestic sewage and other pollution weight coexist, pollution factors change complex. According to the above characteristics, the corresponding treatment measures lincluding curtain grouting, source reduction; Segment reduction, biological priority; classification management, have a target were put forward.
