Abstract A large amount of residual coal pillar resources left behind after working face mining has become an urgent problem to be solved in the middle and later stages of large mines to maintain stable and high production in the mine. Based on the 91M1 coal pillar fully mechanized caving face in the first mining area as the background to conduct the actual measurement of the mining pressure, through analysis and calculation methods, the working face periodic pressure law, support adaptability and other important information were obtained, the research results guided the Pangpangta Mine thick coal seam working face mining pressure control, and also provided a reference for the safe and smooth mining of coal pillar working face under similar conditions.
