Abstract The KC-103S presulfurized sulfur tolerant shift catalyst(KC-103S catalyst) developed by Changyi Kaite New Materials Corporation Ltd. has been being used for 1.5×105 m3/h synthesis gas project of Anyang Yingde Gas Corporation Ltd.. The operation data of CO conversion unit show that the strength stability, conversion activity and activity stability of the catalyst can meet the needs of the production process. There is no need for nitrogen protection during the process of storage, transportation and loading of KC-103S catalyst. Besides, the process gas can be directly introduced after the shift converter is heated to an initiation activity temperature by nitrogen before use, without sulfurization process and hydrogen reduction. The start-up time can be greatly shortened, and the start-up costs can be saved. The over-temperature risk of catalyst bed is reduced as far as possible and the start-up operation is safer and more convenient. Furthermore, a large resources waste and environmental pollution being produced from gas discharge will be avoided during the start-up.
