Abstract Methyl orange was used to imitate dye wastewater, and EDTA-Fe(II) activated sodium persulfate to form sulfate free radicals to degrade methyl orange. The results showed that the initial concentration of Na2S2O8 was 4 mmol/L, the concentration of [FeY]2- was 1.5 mmol/L, the reaction temperature was 45 ℃, the degradation rate of methyl orange (10 mg/L) was the highest, reaching 98.4%. the degradation rate of methyl orange could be increased by raising acidity of solution.
