| Experimental study on surrounding rock control of large section coal seam roadway |

Abstract Aiming at the problem of large deformation and difficult support of large section coal seam in thick coal seam under weak surrounding rock condition, the large section coal seam support of thick coal seam with the auxiliary transportation roadway of No. 13 mining area in Zaoquan Mine was taken as the research background. The control plan for the surrounding rock of the roadway was given. The field application showed that the maximum displacement of the roadway was 244.2 mm, the maximum subsidence of the roof 181.8 mm, and the maximum amount of the bottom drum 144.5 mm. The deformation of the roadway was in a reasonable range. The monitoring of the bolt and anchor cable was carried out. The maximum stress of anchor bolt and anchor cable was 99.1 and 256.6 kN respectively, which indicated that the bolt and anchor cable fully played the supporting role, and they did not reach the yield strength of the supporting body. The monitoring results fully showed that the multi-stage support method of “anchor bearing structure + stress release space + high-strength steel shed support” better controlled the harmful deformation of large coal seam roadway in thick coal seam and ensured the safety and stability of the roadway.
