Abstract The corrosion potential of brass in different kinds of hydraulic transmission media such as concentrated liquid, microemulsion and emulsified oil was determined, and the corrosion tendency of brass in different hydraulic transmission media was evaluated. The results of corrosion potential test were compared with those of brass bar test and practical application, and the corrosion of brass by hydraulic transmission medium was compared to improve the accuracy of current detection technology.
