In order to study roadway section influencing roadway surrounding rock stability, 11204 working face of Changcun Mine was taken as example, plastic zone, stress field and deformation of roadway surrounding rock were analyzed with numerical modeling, the result showed that the change of roadway section size had great influence on the stability of roadway surrounding rock, with the increasing of roadway section, the plastic area of roadway surrounding rock increased gradually. The two sides of the roadway and the floor were the weak supporting links of the semicircular arch roadway of straight wall.
