Abstract Interpretation of small fault structure has always been the goal of 3D seismic exploration in coal mining area. The new detection technology based on Fault Likelihood showed that it not only accurately reflected the development characteristics of larger faults, but also had a strong resolution to small faults, which was conducive to safe production in coal mining areas. Based on the basic principle of Fault Likelihood attributes, the concept and calculation process of fracture likelihood attributes were expounded, compared with semblance attributes and variance attributes, Fault Likelihood attributes detection technology of small fault structure had an important application in coal mining area of 3D seismic exploration.
