Abstract Advanced underground drilling is a powerful guarantee for safe and efficient production of coal mine. In this paper, several common underground advanced drilling methods and methods in Mengcun Mine field were introduced, The practice results showed that using adjacent old tunnels or drilling fields to arrange coal exploration holes or structural exploration holes can not only save the production cost to a great extent, but also guarantee the development and production continuity effectively. The technology of surface drilling for vertical drilling in underground construction can not only control blind spots in deep exploration, but also save exploration cost to a great extent. The research results provided a basis for the research of underground drilling technology.
