Abstract Reflection seismic exploration technology is a practical method to detect the information of the coal in the rock cross-cut coal uncovering process. In this paper, the single point reflection method and seismic image method were introduced for the commonly used seismic reflection technique in rock cross-cut coal uncovering, this two methods were used to investigate the coal uncovering information in the underground of rock cross-cut, and after the results of wave map data processing analysis, accurately identified the location and thickness of pre exposed coal rock cross-cut. It was indicated that the seismic wave reflection method can accurately detect the location and thickness of the exposed coal in the process of rock cross-cut coal uncovering,it can accurate predict the coal uncovering, it provided reliable technical basis for the design of tunnel construction and the prevention and control of coal and gas outburst.
