Coal played an important role in Chinese energy structure and it also brought serious environment problems. The dual purpose of using coal resources and protecting environment could be realized by heavy medium separation process. Based on general introduction of coal separationprocess and optimization research of its operating, development trend of future separation process was discussed to provide direction for future improvement optimization.
