Abstract VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds)are important precursors of O3 and PM2.5 that can participate atmospheric photochemistry and also form synergies with NOx, which will cause urban haze and photochemical smog etc.. The impact of VOCs on environment has increasingly captured attention and become an important part of atmospheric controlling. According to VOCs’ different physical and chemical characters, many controlling technologies have been developed respectively. The common VOCs treatment methods, including condensation, absorption, adsorption, membrane separation, dilution and diffusion, direct combustion, RCO(Regenerative Catalytic Oxidizers), biological method, low-temperature plasma etc. were introduced, and the new coupling technologies developed in recent years were especially introduced, including condensation-absorption, adsorption concentration-combustion, spray washing-catalytic oxidation, composite enzyme-carbon absorption. It proposes to take one or several integrated technologies, referring to the different VOC from various processes to achieve good adaptability, low investment and operation cost, friendly environment, low secondary pollution, efficient resource utilization and standardized emission.
