Abstract Pressure observation of alternative distance of 20 m of upper and lower coal seam working face was analyzed by test method on the site, the observed data showed that upper coal seam with tough roof due to small mining height, without obvious initial pressure and periodical pressure, advanced interfered area ahead of 20 m of working face, with working face roadway surrounding rock plastic zone depth of 1.5~2.5 m. Initial pressure and average periodical pressure step of lower coal seam working face were 27.4 m and 15.5 m, advanced interfered area ahead of working face 30 m, with working face roadway surrounding rock plastic zone depth of 2 m.
