Abstract According to the analysis of aquifer hydraulic connection, mine water filling factors, water-filled channel and water inflow constitution of Shandong Dongshan Gucheng Mine, the degree of coal seam mining affected by the flood and water prevention and control work were got. Based on prevention and control of coal mine water regulations issued in China and the principle of the high not the low, the hydrogeological classification of Dongshan Mine was settled as medium type, which provided reference for water prevention and control of mine.
