Abstract Theaa La /Fe -doped TiO2 photocatalysts were prepared by sol-gel method. The structure and optical absorption of TiO2 were analyzed by X ray diffraction and UV vis diffuse reflectance, and the effect of catalyst on the degradation of methylene blue was studied.It is found that doping with La3+/Fe3+ restricts the anatase phase transforming to rutile phase,changes the band gap energy of TiO2 so that TiO2 has a red shift to visible light region,and improves the photocatalytic activity of TiO2.
