Based on the problems of fully mechanized face in extra-thick coal seam with large mining height such as thick seam, difficulty of stop mining support, occupancy of long time, etc. , 8103 working face in Tongxin Mine was taken as research object. A technical scheme of support for face stoppage in accordance with the safe and fast principle was put forward. The practice showed that the scheme could efficiently shorten the time of support for face stoppage, and avoid people long time operation in machinery roadway, and eliminate safety hidden dangers, which provides convenience for conveyance of mechanized mining face．
