The driving speed of the rock roadway has an important influence on the safety and efficiency of the coal mine production. The factors that influencing the driving speed were analyzed, which are backward driving equipments and construction technology, imperfect organization and management and poor quality of constructors etc.. It is pointed out that adopting advanced geological exploration techniques, improved driving equipments, deep hole blasting technology, optimized waste system, strengthened  construction organization and management measures can speed up the rock roadway driving speed.
