Pharmaceutical wastewater has features of  high chroma,containing more  bio-degradable and toxic substances.The present status and the existing problems of Shijiazhuang pharmaceutical  wastewater treatment were  introduced. Some useful strategies to improve the status of wastewater treatment were pointed out，such as eliminating or improving the existing wastewater treatment technologies, establishing pharmaceutical industrial parks, centralized treatment of pharmaceutical  wastewater and strengthening the role of government intervention in environmental governance,thereby providing basis and refences for pharmaceutical  wastewater research in Shijiazhuang.
