Abstract Cefpirome sulfate，one of the fourth generation cephalosporins, has good clinical effects. Two kinds of synthetic technologies of cefpirome sulfate were summaried，those were with 7-amino-cephalosporanic acid （7-ACA） as material and with 7- acetophenone amide -3- methyl iodide cephalosporanic acid p-methoxybenzyl ester（GCLE） as material. It was pointed out that the synthetic technology with 7-ACA as material had some characteristics of low cost, fast reaction speed, high yield and more suitable for industrial production, so the technology should be further studied.
