Abstract Based on the complex mountainous area surface severe ups and downs, big change of vertical and lateral velocity, a chieved good seismic imaging, should improve the precision of static correction. Both assumptions and the practical application effect, the horizontal reflection plane assumption refraction static correction method didn’t adapt. Surface model tomographic inversion based on the beginning of time and the error of the actual first arrival time corrected velocity model, after repeated iterations, eventually achieved the requirements of the error precision. Independent of the horizontal change of the surface and near surface structure, achieved the goal of improving the quality of static correction.
