Abstract Traditional catalytic oxidation was adopt in liquid gas sweetening process. 2×10-4 sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanine catalyst configuration was used for 12% sodium hydroxide solution sweetening, especially when the total sulfur raw materials were more than 300 mg/m3, there were some problems which were high total sulfur content,and treatment costs of waste residue disposal, high energy consumption and content of total sulfur in the MTBE devices etc.. The processing agent of Hebei Refining Technology Limited Corporation,the deodorizing purification liquid instead of sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanine was used for liquefied gas sweetening. The smooth running cycle of the plant and the qualified rate of total sulfur of liquefied gas were improved, the labor intensity of workers and the energy consumption of the devices were reduced, the alkali waste emissions were reduced, the comprehensive economic benefits were improved.
