Abstract In order to solve the problem of dust pollution in the production process of Pingshang Coal Industry and optimize the wetting effect of dust to improve the efficiency of dust reduction, surfactants can be added to tap water. In this study, the surface tension, contact angle and coal dust settling time were measured, and the spreading work parameters were comprehensively analyzed. Finally, the optimization of surfactant and the determination of its practical optimum mass concentration were realized. The experimental results show that the five surfactants of OP-10, TX-100, AEO-9, SAS-60 and rapid infiltration T have the best wettability on the dust on the Pingshang coal mine, and the optimal mass concentration is 0.03 %, which provides a reference for the dust control work on the Pingshang coal mine.
