Abstract The semi quantitative structure and carbonyl functional group composition of motherwort was explored. The infrared (MIR) spectroscopy group experiments on the structure of motherwort (including one-dimensional MIR spectroscopy, derivative MIR spectroscopy and deconvolution MIR spectroscopy) were conducted. As a result, it was found that the infrared absorption modes of the structure of motherwort include: ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, ν■, δ■, δ■, δ■, ν■, and ρ■. The structure of motherwort mainly includes: fats, protein, polysaccharides, carboxylic acids, and flavonoids. The spectral resolution of the deconvolution MIR spectrum of motherwort structure is superior to that of one-dimensional MIR and derivative MIR spectrum. In motherwort, the content of flavonoids is relatively high (relative content 47.2%), while the content of fats (relative content 27.8%) and carboxylic acids (relative content 25.0%) is comparable. The MIR spectroscopy group can quickly conduct semi quantitative research on the structure and carbonyl functional group composition of motherwort.
